How A Wedding Planner And Organizer Can Help You Get Your Wedding Right

A wedding planner and organizer can do so much to help your big day go ahead without a hitch. There will be enough nerves felt without the participants themselves having to get involved in organization at the latter stages. Professional wedding planners will have dealt with everything before, and will be able to guide you through the process step by step. The first thing they will do is show you the list of everything which needs to be planned, so that nothing is overlooked. Once you have studied this list, everything can be broken down into its component parts, and tackled one by one.

The planner will first want to set a date, as everything else stems from that. The earlier in the proceedings you can get a date set the better, as it lessens the chances of venues being all booked out on the date you want. Once the date has been set, the venue for both the ceremony and the reception can be booked. Make sure that a definite contract is signed which specifies the exact room you will be offered. It is not unheard of for unscrupulous venues to charge people for a large room, and then switch them into a smaller one when someone else wants to book a large one.

A wedding planner and organizer will have knowledge of a wide variety of local venues, but they may not be familiar with them all, especially if new venues have just opened. It is also extremely valuable to get feedback from other people who have used a venue in the recent past. Many people who get married come from wide ranging social groups, and will know other people in the area who will have been married in the recent past. If you can, get feedback from these people on how the venues dealt with the reception. Good feedback from more than one source will be a very encouraging sign.

The planner should also have the necessary contacts to get the invitations printed, the flowers booked, and to organize any catering. Catering especially is one of the biggest tasks of the entire operation, and one of the most expensive. It is priced per person so don't invite anyone, especially groups of people, just for the sake of it. If you want to make your reception stand out, you can ask your planner to book some entertainment. This can even be a live band, which again will need to be booked in advance especially if it is in high demand.

Wedding planners and organizers can also spark original ideas from within you, that you may not have considered if you had not met them. They will have been involved in organizing many weddings, and will have seen a lot of originality. Some of the fresh ideas may be ones you will want to adapt for your own event. It need not be an expensive project to make a wedding special – often a bit of extra thought is worth more than a lot of extra money. Put your own ideas forward, but always be open to input from your wedding planner and organizer.
